RAAF delivers Australian help for Fukushima Nuclear Plant (1.10 mins)

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) flew equipment from Australia to assist containment efforts at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant. The equipment is part of a remotely operated water cannon system from Perth and is based on a series of pumps and trailers that can be remotely manoeuvred into location to provide continuous water suppression. A second flight will arrive at Yokota Air Base this afternoon with the remainder of the system. When this aircraft arrives, there will be a total of three RAAF C-17s at Yokota Air Base as part of Operation Pacific Assist - the ADF component of the Australian Government's response to the earthquake and tsunami relief effort in Japan. Related Imagery
